The 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-based Violence is an International Campaign geared towards ending violence against women and children around the world.

This campaign which originated from the first Women’s Global Leadership coordinated by the Center for Women’s Global Leadership in 1991 runs from 25th November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women to 10th December, International Human Right Day, every year.

The 16 days campaign is a strategy to call for the elimination of all forms of violence against women through awareness creation on gender-based violence as a human right issue, provide a forum for organizers to share new and effective strategies & create tools to remind the governments on the promises made to eliminate violence against women.
